Dr. Girish V. Badarkhe successfully completed more than 250 Bone Marrow Transplants (Allogeneic, Haploidentical
HSCT, MUD and Autologous) at HCG-Bangalore and was leading a Bone Marrow Transplant program at the same institute. During his
tenure at HCG-Bangalore, he started Bone Marrow Transplant fellowship training program under him and established an excellent
PICC team as well as trained the nursing staff for USG guided PICC insertion and care. With his efforts the HCG- Bangalore
unit is selected as Apex training institute in South India for PICC training. He shifted back to his home at Nashik and
joined HCG-Manavata cancer centre Nashik. He has established Haematology and BMT unit and have successfully done 38 BMTs at
HCG Nashik. His dream of making quality healthcare available at grassroot level has made him run OPDs at most peripheral
regions of Maharashtra. He has got associated with PATUT foundation and Arpan blood Bank to help Thalassemia kids and make
transplant possible for such patients. He has run free HLA- camps at various places like Parbhani and Jalgaon to create awareness
about Bone Marrow Transplant. He has done North Maharashtra’s first Matched Unrelated Donor Transplant at Nashik. Dr. Girish has
been a part of various scientific presentations at national and international conferences. He has also got various publications
in prestigious journals like “Journal of Cancer Therapeutics”, “Hemoglobin”, “Indian journal of Hematology”, “Journal of Clinical
Oncology (JCO)” and “Indian journal of Pharmacology” to his credit. His 3 papers got selected at the prestigious APL-2013 conference
held at Rome , Italy and was invited as a speaker at 11th KRSTA (Korean Research Society of Transfusion Medicine) and 2nd ASPBM at
Busan Korea in 2016. He was also invited as a guest speaker at “MACOVA” Taiwan in 2017. Dr. Girish is also a part of the National
Editorial Board of “Asian Journal of Oncology” & “International Journal of Education and Research in Health Sciences” (IJERHS)
. Dr. Girish's key area of expertise lies in treating Aplastic Anemia, Sickle Cell Disease, Thalassemia, Acute and Chronic Leukemia,
Multiple Myeloma, Hodgkin and Non- Hodgkin Lymphomas, Myelodysplastic and Myeloproliferative Neoplasms and other Bone Marrow failure
syndromes. He has keen interests in Research specific to Haemato-Oncology and is involved in multiple clinical trials as well as
studies involving role of Mesenchymal Stem Cells in prevention of GVHD. He is also involved in research of role of NK-T Cells in
Relapsed Refractory Lymphomas. He along with the team at HCG-Bangalore performed country's first and only Bloodless Transplants in 6
patients of Jehovah's Witness. He is the member of European Hematology Association (EHA), Indian Society of Hematology and Blood
Transfusion (ISHBT), Karnataka-ISHBT chapter and Indian Stem cell Transplant Registry (ISCTR).
